Okay-- since the "To Speak or Not to Speak..." post, I have been following the comments. Great feedback-- just goes to show that speaking is indeed a personal preference.
Now, I hate to contradict myself- because I did say that I don't expect EVERY black person I see to say hello. After yesterday, I found that to be half true. I DO expect every black women that is at least within 5 feet of me (reasonable speaking distance) to say hi or give a smile, or something. That didn't happen yesterday and I found that it did ruffle my lil' feathers just a teeeeeee bit.
So, there you go. I should work on my tolerance of non-speakers.
Thanks for the comments-- very insightful guys :).
I probably wouldn't speak... but that's just cause I'm shy around strangers... I guess I gotta work on my confidence then, to avoid ruffling others' feathers :) Plus I have a while until I'm going to Tokyo anyway
