Here we are! (Well, most of us.) The 2005-2006 Fulbright Fellows of Japan! (Photo taken during at the Fulbright Orientation in Tokyo upon arriving to Japan.)
In case you don't know, I like weapons. So, when I passed a gunshop near my campus, I had to take a look and take a picture.
In this pic I am eating a lunch my host mother made for me and I chillin in the comfy red chair at the media center. And yes, for those of you who haven't seen me in a while, that is an afro :).
This picture is of my Japanese class during a performance activity. With this particular activity we were pretending to order food at a restarant.
This picture is of the blackboard at my field placement. During my first visit I had to explain where I was from. I drew an airplane, the US, Japan, and marked DC and Alabama :).
This is a pic of me waiting at the train station. I was going for the "sophisticated" look with the black shawl. (heheheh)
This picture was taken during a volunteer day at one of the Elementary schools at tokyo. It's her favorite shirt :).
This picture is of a temple in Nagano. Inside we sat through a service (part of one) and walked through this really dark tunnel... It was really nice.
While in Nagano, I came across the coziest little jazz spot that brought to mind DC. :) here's a pic
This picture is of IES students enjoying tea before dinner at Shukudo Hotel. This place was wonderful!!! (tea and dinner was good also)
This is a famous castle because of it's architecture. Inside there were several floors and many defense mechanisms. The steps were really steep. (I know my picture descriptions are really bad :)... sorry) more information will follow... maybe
Some Japanese have difficulties pronouncing l and r. here's an example that's supposed to be "ANTHROPOLOGY"
This picture is of 3rd Graders at Sunshine Elementary School playing "Jan Ken Pon" or we know it as "Rock Paper Scissors." From my little host brother to Kanda University students this game is played often and is used to settle conflicts and disputes of fairness. In this particular picture the students were trying to decide whose desk I would use to eat my lunch :) (Isn't that just sweet!!!)- That's the sensei looking over their shoulders.
This picture was taken during a school assembly at Sunshine Elementary School (my field placement). The students sang the cutest little song :) and watched a talent showcase of various faculty members.
This picture is of a packed train car on the Yamonote Line in Tokyo. The time was about 6 or 7pm and it was full... I've actually seen worse.
This picture is of a Japanese Political Ad and was taken during my walk from school near Makuhari Station. The largest image is of the current Prime Minister of Japan Junichiro Koizumi, however, I believe this ad is for the man in the smaller image.
I took this picture while on my way to Tokyo National Museum in Ueno. On this particular day a lot of homeless men were gathered (as pictured). In front of the group was a Japanese man and women with a microphone. Behind them were vans that looked as if they had food.
This pic is of a hurt Kanda University Hip Hop dancer hurt watching on the sidelines while her pals practice for the upcoming school festival.
This pic is of KUIS Hip-Hop dancers learning a new routine for the school festival.

I happened to come across a group of young Japanese men at Tsudanama-eki breakdancing on Friday night.
I snapped this pick on my way to the train station in Chiba. Yes, those are Hello Kitty figures all over the front dash :).
This is one of the classrooms I play English games with during my Field Placement every Wednesday... Awww, I remember when I was an elementary student.
I snapped this photo on my way to school. Salarymen sleep everywhere. Hard workers they are!
Yes, Japan has a homeless population. This picture was taken while on my way to the Tokyo National Museum in Ueno.
Ikebukuro is a nice little part of Tokyo that I like to frequent to simply people watch and take pictures.
